QUICK TIPS FOR HEALTHY TEETH AND GUMS:
- You should brush thoroughly twice a day, before or after meals. Electronic toothbrushes are very efficient to use as they get out debris from your mouth more effectively.
- You should always brush the inside of your teeth, as this is the area that is most neglected and can result in plaque when not cleaned properly.
- You should try and floss at least once a day as this will help get rid of the bacteria that can cause gum disease and decay.
- Eating more raw food including carrots and apples will help to clean your teeth also- and too much citric acid which is present in many fruit juices should try and be avoided as the acid can cause decay.
- Scraping your tongue once a week will help to get rid of any bacteria present on your tongue.
- Try not to smoke! As this will lead to bad breath and unhealthy teeth and gums.
- You should see a dentist at least once a year for a check up and a dental hygienist every six months to clean your teeth and remove and plaque on them.
