Hair loss is a common problem for most people.

In this video I shall talk about how to prevent hair loss.

Hair loss treatments for men and hair loss products are sold widely. Hair loss supplements are also sold, claiming to treat the hair loss.

However, prevention is better than cure!

Each hair on your head has a growth cycle.

This growth cycle begins to weaken and the hair follicle shrinks, producing shorter and finer strands of hair. Eventually, the growth cycle for each hair ends and no new hair grows in its place.

Practically, what you can do at home to prevent Hair loss:

  • Avoid blow-drying and flat-iron styling
  • When blow drying, stop when the hair is mostly dry in most cases and let it finish drying on its own
  • Do not put hair extensions. This makes it worse, because this pulls the hair and increases hair fall out.
  • Use a spray-on, leave-in conditioner and smoothing serum before any heat styling or drying.
  • Trim your hair regularly. This reduces knotting & reduces the pulling when you comb your hair.
  • Back combing can help
  • Tattoo the scalp in a darker colour to disguise the bald spot
  • In winter, the hair gets dryer. Use a hair moisturising mask at least once a week.
  • Wear a hat when you go outside. Too much sun exposure can damage your hair.
  • Quit Smoking. It damages hair follicles and can speed up hair loss.
  • Gentle shampoo & moisture rich good conditioner.

Eat a Healthy well-balanced diet, rich in vitamins, minerals and protein

Hair is made from protein, it requires protein to sustain growth and stay healthy.

Aloe Vera supplements activate the enzymes required for healthy hair

De-stress:

  • Drink Green tea. Its soothing & slows down the heart.
  • Avoid too much caffeine, which is in traditional teas & coffees.
  • Take hot baths with essential oils.
  • Deep breaths, taken slowly, increases oxygen circulation.

Keep natural Hair Style

  • Avoid blow-drying and flat-iron styling
  • When you shampoo the hair, wrap the hair in a towel, & let the towel soak up the excess moisture.
  • When you MUST blow-dry the hair, use a diffuser attachment and be very gentle with the hair.
  • Bleaching hair, Hair straighteners and chemicals damage hair.

Avoid poor quality hair products. Poor quality hair products are full of chemicals such as sulfates, phosphates, chlorine and ammonia which dry out the hair and weaken the roots, making you more prone to white hairs.

Use products with natural ingredients.
